Nylon Wound was established to promote the classical guitar in various venues for public enrichment.
The Nylon Wound Vision
To provide and promote performances, workshops, and presentations for the public to experience the classical guitar.
To create and perform original compositions, arrangements, and transcriptions for the classical guitar in solo, duo, and ensemble settings.
To present the classical guitar in collaboration with dance, theatre, and other visual and performance art projects, for public audience expansion and artistic development.
To bring classical guitar performance to educational and other institutions serving the public.
To document performance events and original works using audio, video, and music notation technology for the benefit of the public, educational, and arts communities.
Nylon Wound runs the following programs in support of its mission:
Neighborhood Concert Series: this program provides free classical guitar performances in public venues without financial and locality constraints.
Performance Outreach Program: this program provides opportunities for students of the classical guitar and student instrumentalists to perform with professional classical guitarists.
Partnership Outreach Program: this program provides educational institutions the ability to offer classical guitar programming in various formats to complement their existing educational, performance, and cultural activities. |
