get-attachment.aspx_2Gregory Askins has performed in various venues throughout the New York metropolitan area and throughout the Midwest including Steinway Hall (UT) and Babcock Theater (MT).

Askins has independently recorded five CDs: Six String Solstice, Two Shades of Time, The Dancing Guitar and The Classical Guitar For The Touring Dancer (for ballet class accompaniment), A Classical Guitar Holiday, and in 2006 Acoustic Accolades.

He is a graduate of Hunter College (BA) and the University of Utah (MFA). Apart from performing and teaching guitar, he also dances and teaches ballet at Adelphi University. His ballet, A Day In The Office – A Night In The Park, choreographed to music by Joseph Parisi, was performed by the S.I. Ballet at The NY International Choreographers Festival, with Nylon Wound performing the score live. His Ballet, Shape and Form, also choreographed to music by Parisi, was perfomed at Dance Adelphi Fall 2010, with Nylon Wound performing the score live with the Adelphi Guitar Quartet.

 

get-attachment.aspx_3Joseph Parisi, classical guitarist/composer, has performed throughout the New York Metropolitan area including Weill (Carnegie) Recital Hall and radio station WNYC FM. He has performed with the Golden Attic Chamber Ensemble, The Crossroads Concert Ensemble and on other projects utilizing the guitar in unique ensembles. In Italy, he has performed in the Sessioni Senesi Festival while attending master classes in guitar and composition at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana.

Since 2002 he has been performing and composing for the classical guitar duo Nylon Wound. He has also been a section leader in the NYC Guitar Orchestra since 2011 with performances at GFA NY Symposiums, Baruch College and The DiMenna Center for Classical Music.

He is a graduate of the Mannes College of Music (BM), New York University (MA) and Accademia Musicale Chigiana (Diploma). He has taught guitar and guitar ensemble at various community music schools and organizations. He has composed and arranged works for guitar and the ensembles he has performed with. His guitar ensemble compositions have been performed by various ensembles including Nylon Wound (Duo & Quartet), The College of Staten Guitar Ensemble, The Adelphi Guitar Quartet, The Susan E. Wagner Guitar Ensemble and the NYC Guitar Orchestra.
